BPR

Managing Change has been specialising in Business Process Re-engineering since it's formation in 1993.

In fact Alan Cooper's BPR experience dates from 1989 when he implemented probably the UK's first document image processing and work flow system plus associated BPR at the TSB Unit Trust company. The result was 100% productivity improvement, 400% customer service improvement and significant increased staff satisfaction and motivation.

In 1994 Alan's MBA dissertation was on BPR and Organisational Culture Change Techniques (click to read the dissertation online). Alternatively there is an executive summary.

In 1996 Managing Change's work in establishing HantsDoc won a national award. HantsDoc was a new emergency out of hours scheme for family doctors (GPs) in North Hampshire. Initially for 80 doctors the scheme's success attracted more GPs, increasing to almost 100. The organisational design, modelling and outsourcing was undertaken on process lines.

Most recently (2005 to late 2006) Managing Change assisted the Somerset Waste Partnership in identifying resource efficiencies and organisational & business issues. The SWP is a partnership of 6 councils in Somerset formed to integrate their waste collection and disposal operations under a single long term contract. A case study is available at the WCG web site.
